“The Use of Chip-based nanoESI for the Analysis of Small and Large Molecules from Solution and Surfaces”

基于芯片的多通道纳升电喷雾技术用于分析溶液和表面中的生物大分子及小分子药物

Abstract

A Chip-based nanoESI device that combines the strengths of liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, chip-based infusion, fraction collection, and direct surface analysis into one integrated system is introduced. The nanoESI device consists of an array of 400 nanoESI emitters with different inner diameters allowing for flow rates of 20 to 300 nL/min. The consistent nozzles are robust and bypasse any problems with non-uniformity in the spray. The spray sensing capability allows for moving simply to the next nozzle should there be an issue with spray. In applications like protein identification, non-covalent interactions, and lipids analysis, the device provides a long-lasting stable spray, and eliminates sample-to-sample carryover.

The LC/MS Fraction Collection mode gives researchers the ability to spend more time analyzing complex portions of their samples without having to reinject. It is ideally suited for researchers interested in metabolite ID, biomarker analysis, and protein characterization or any application that requires more time for analysis.

Liquid Extraction Surface Analysis (LESA) is the newest, automated, chip-based nanoESI source for mass spectrometry. It enables simple, direct nanoESI mass spectrometric analysis from a variety of surfaces, e.g. tissue slices, TLC plates, MALDI plates, and Dried Blood Spots.
